KESHET INTERNATIONAL CLOSES RTL PRE-SALE FOR WOODCUT MEDIA’S WORLD’S MOST EVIL KILLERS ACROSS GERMAN-SPEAKING EUROPE

REALSCREEN WASHINGTON DC, 24 January 2017 – Keshet International (KI) today announced a pre-sale for Woodcut Media’s true crime series World’s Most Evil Killers with RTL for German-speaking Europe. The extended 20 episode series, which free-to-air Sky UK channel Pick is lining up for broadcast this year, has been adjusted for local audiences and licensed to RTL in a multi-year deal.

World’s Most Evil Killers examines some of the most dangerous and prolific murderers in the UK and worldwide, uncovering what drove the perpetrators to commit such heinous crimes. The series focuses on notorious killers such as Fred and Rose West, “The Yorkshire Ripper” Peter Sutcliffe, Michael Ryan, Ed Gein, Fritz Honka, “The Milwaukee Cannibal” Jeffrey Dahmer – and many more who have made headline news while evoking fear and fascination in the public eye.

Through a series of compelling interviews including authentic first-hand accounts, expert views from leading criminologists, crime journalists and psychologists, archive footage and stylised reconstruction, each riveting episode investigates the triggers that drove the criminals to kill, whilst delving into their insatiable appetite for murder and the chilling legacy they left behind.

“Real crime is an important programme genre for RTL Group. I greatly look forward to working with our London colleagues at Woodcut and Keshet International on the international version of this thrilling series.“ Said Agnes Ostrop, Head of Special projects, RTL.

Nelly Feld, Head of Sales and Business Development Europe, at Keshet International, said “True crime continues to pull in viewers around the world and we couldn’t wish for a better platform in German speaking-Europe than RTL. World’s Most Evil Killers not only capitalises on this demand but also gives viewers the opportunity to look deeper into the motivations behind these notorious crimes and learn about the psychology that underpins each criminal’s actions.”
