After a decade at ITV where she rose to Series Producer at the age of 25, Kate founded KMB Productions Ltd at 27. Within three years a major independent, Talent Group PLC, bought her company and she became CEO of Talent TV South where she produced hit shows for broadcasters such as ITV, A+E Networks UK, UKTV and TLC’s break out factual hit, Tina Malone: Pregnant at 50.
In 2014 Talent South transformed into Woodcut Media and since then has become one of the fasted growing indies in the UK.
Under Kate’s leadership, Woodcut has produced over 300 hours of programming and quintupled its turnover in less than 5 years. In the UK, Woodcut has become one of the leading true crime producers with hit franchise, World’s Most Evil Killer’s now in its sixth 20-part season with Sky. Other key crime titles include Killer In My Family for Quest Red / Discovery+, Murder at My Door with Kym Marsh for Crime+Investigation and Surviving a Serial Killer for More4. Kate has also been the driving force behind the company’s global specialist factual franchise Combat Ships, now in its third series with Smithsonian as well as The Secret History of WW2 for Channel 5 and Britain’s Forgotten War Stories with Tony Robinson for Channel 4. In 2020, Kate teamed up with award-winning executive producer, Paul Wooding to launch Woodcut West, a Bristol branch focused on ambitious specialist factual and natural history. 2020 also saw Kate launch a distribution arm, Woodcut International. In addition to running the Woodcut group of companies and executive producing, Kate is a published author by Penguin Random House, a member of the British Screen Advisory Council, an advisory board member for RealScreen and a member of the PACT Council.
