WOODCUT MEDIA PROMOTES MATTHEW GORDON TO HEAD OF CONTEMPORARY FACTUAL

London/Hampshire, Tuesday 5th December 2023 – Indie prodco Woodcut Media has promoted Matthew Gordon from Senior Executive Producer to the newly created role of Head of Contemporary Factual, effective immediately.

In this new position, Matthew is tasked with developing and expanding the company’s factual output, and will continue to report to Kate Beal, Woodcut’s Founder & CEO.

Since joining Woodcut in 2018, he has executive produced a wide range of commissions such as Murder in the Red Light (3 x 45’) and Becoming Ian Brady (3 x 45’) for Prime Video UK/Ireland, World’s Most Dangerous Prisoners (10 x 1 hrs) for Channel 5 (UK) and FilmRise (US), and The Suitcase Murders (8 x 1 hrs) for Warner Bros. Discovery UK & Ireland, to name a few.

His distinguished career spans 20 years. Prior to Woodcut, he worked across a broad range of factual, features and documentary programming; from science and history through to drama-docs and consumer journalism. Credits included Comic Relief does Car Booty (BBC1), Four in a Bed (Channel 4), Can’t Pay We’ll Take It Away and Murdered by my Fiancé (Channel 5).

Woodcut Media has also hired Jason Tomkins, who joins as Post Production Manager, responsible for shepherding and growing the company’s in-house facility.
