London, Monday April 4th 2016: Woodcut Media and Green Door Pictures today announced the release of Cut From A Different Cloth, a 1 x 60’ feature documentary.

This entertaining, observational film simultaneously provides a rare and fascinating glimpse into world of an incredibly successful entrepreneur, his perfectionist designer, their billion pound empire and their new partner in crime Idris Elba, as together they attempt to confound the critics and beat the competition.

So far, Superdry have conquered the UK and Europe. Now they have America and China firmly in their sights. They’re a great British success story, a retail business worth £1.2bn and one of the fastest growing companies in the last 30 years.

Now for the first time they have granted a camera crew unfettered access as enigmatic entrepreneur Julian Dunkerton and fellow founder James Holder team up with multi-award winning actor Idris Elba to launch their first premium fashion line.

It’s a calculated risk, but there’s a lot at stake…

It’s the first time Superdry have launched a line so quickly.

It’s the first time they’ve tried to appeal to a completely different customer.

It’s the first time in their 13-year history that they have collaborated with anyone.

And it’s the first time Idris Elba has ever done anything in the fashion industry.

As Julian, James and Idris attempt to merge their brands and converge their teams, how will they deal with the stresses and strains of launching Superdry’s biggest ever collection in the world’s biggest retail markets?

Executive producers are Derren Lawford from Woodcut Media and Nicholas Yearwood from Green Door Pictures.

The film is co-financed by Woodcut Media and Green Door Pictures. It will be distributed by Content Media (MIPTV: C15.A6)

Nicholas Yearwood, Executive Producer from Green Door Pictures says: “With this film director Richard Terry has delivered an amazing behind the scenes insight into the inner workings of one of the world’s most Iconic brands Superdry and its people.  The film presents a side of Idris never seen on television before, that of designer and entrepreneur. Green Door are also happy to once again be collaborating with Woodcut on another groundbreaking documentary.”

Derren Lawford, Creative Director from Woodcut Media says: “It’s highly unusual to get this level of access to the founders of a billion pound company, especially while they’re knee deep in a high stakes launch. Not only did we get a fascinating insight into a great untold British success story, in the process we were also able to intimately capture Idris Elba’s latest professional adventure.”
